The short version
Less is more: spray the trim product onto the cloth (not directly onto the dashboard), spread thinly, choose a matt version so nothing reflects in the windscreen. Vacuum dust first, otherwise you rub it in.
The dashboard is exposed to UV and heat, the plastic fades and gets brittle. Good care cleans, refreshes the colour and protects against fading, without everything shining like freshly oiled.
Caring for the interior right
Vacuum
Vacuum dust and crumbs first, also in the vents and crevices, otherwise you rub the dirt in.
Spray onto the cloth
Put trim spray on a microfibre cloth, not directly on the dashboard, that doses it evenly.
Spread thinly
Apply and spread thinly in sections, matt care avoids reflections in the windscreen.
Vents & crevices
Reach narrow spots with a brush or cotton swab with a little product.
Wipe down
Take off the excess with a dry cloth so nothing sticks or reflects.
Hands off the windscreen
Trim spray never belongs on the windscreen, the greasy film smears and blinds in the sun. For leather seats use special leather care, not plastic spray.
What helps
What to look for:
- A trim spray, matt, without greasy shine
- A microfibre cloth and a small brush for crevices
- Separate leather care for leather seats
